Spammers better look elsewhere!

We really shouldn't have to say this because it's a bit of a no-brainer:

Please report any suspected abuse to our Contact Desk,  ISPs and Blacklists Administrators may also contact us at the same abuse email address. Please forward the complete email in question, including headers.

Legal Requirements

i-AutoResponder requires all Users to comply with the following legal requirements established for commercial email service providers: CAN SPAM Act of 2003, the Directive 2000/31/EC of the European Parliament and Council of 8 June 2000, on legal aspects of information society services, in particular, electronic commerce in the Internal Market ('Directive on Electronic Commerce'), along with the Directive 2002/58/EC of the European Parliament and Council of 12 July 2002, concerning the processing of personal data and the protection of privacy in the electronic communications sector (‘Directive on Privacy and Electronic Communications’) and laws in force of the User’s country of residence.

What Is Spam?

This question can generate any number of definitions depending on who you ask, but in general terms spam is any email which has been sent to someone without his or her permission. You need to have his or her permission to send out email. Here at i-AutoResponder, we generally refer clients asking for a technical definition of spam to Spamhaus: An electronic message is "spam" if (A) the recipient's personal identity and context are irrelevant because the message is equally applicable to many other potential recipients; AND (B) the recipient has not verifiably granted deliberate, explicit, and still-revocable permission for it to be sent.

E-mail senders like i-AutoResponder prefer to use the textbook definition. Because our business depends on the ability to secure white-listed status with internet service providers, we take the issue of spam very seriously indeed.

These things are a definite NO with i-AutoResponder!

  • Unsolicited e-mailing to recipients who have not given you permission to email, or specifically requested that information from you.
  • Using e-mail lists purchased, rented, leased, or in any way obtained from a third party.
  • Using harvested email lists from publicly available online data.
  • The sending of unwanted email through a third party with a plan to getting people to sign up to your Mailigen-managed email list.
  • This extends to trying to get people to sign up on a i-AutoResponder web form that you have placed on your website.
  • Utilizing a list older than 6 months without reconfirming the recipients' subscriptions
  • Deceptive subject lines – The subject line can not contain false or misleading information. It must describe the content you are sending.

If there's something you want to do but don't know if we would consider it to be spam then please Contact us. We're here to help!

Policy Enforcement

1. Postal Address

The Customer must provide their true and accurate postal address that will be included in each message footer. The Customer is required to maintain and promptly update this data to ensure it is current, complete and accurate. i-AutoResponder actively monitors all outgoing messages to verify that proper sender's information is included in the message content.

2. Removals

Every email, whether text or HTML, contains a mandatory unsubscribe/opt-out link at the bottom of the message, which automatically updates your subscriber lists to avoid the chance of sending unwanted emails to visitors who have unsubscribed. This unsubscribe link cannot be removed.

The Customer is not allowed to send messages to any individual that had been added to the mailing list, but later unsubscribed from it.  i-AutoResponder automatically handles all unsubscribe requests on Customer's behalf.

3. Review

A member of our staff reviews each message sent to more than 3,000 recipients and either will approve or reject it. This threshold is smaller for clients that have been with us less than two months.

4. Subscriber handling

We maintain the IP address and date subscribed for every new subscriber.

5. Double-opt in tools

We offer the tools necessary for our customers to create a true double opt-in list.

6. List import

All large list imports will be verified and tracked by our team. This is for preventing 3rd party email addresses.

Prior importing any email list, make sure you don't have non-specific addresses such as: sales@domain.com, business@domain.com, webmaster@domain.com, traffic@domain.com, reply@domain.com, customersHelp@domain.com, webmaster@domain.com, Help@domain.com, info@domain.com, or other general addresses in the list.

7. Monitoring

All email sending activity is being monitored by our experienced team and if we discover that you are sending emails to people without their permissions, we will terminate your account immediately without any notice.

8. From and reply-to verification

We verify that all from addresses are fully legitimate so that spoofing cannot occur.

If you Spam, what happens?

If we find out that you're spamming using your i-AutoResponder account then you can expect all or some of the following to occur.
Without doubt:

  1. We will shut down your account immediately.
  2. We will not refund your account.

Things that might happen:

  1. We might ask you to compensate us if your spamming activity causes any interruptions in our ability to service our other customers.
  2. We may take legal action against you!

Please be advised, we don't automatically presume culpability. We take it upon ourselves to investigate all instances of potential spam before coming to a decision.

i-AutoResponder is intended for businesses and organizations who have an established list of permission-based opt-in email addresses. We provide our product only to those who follow our no tolerance, anti-spam policy.
